Portrait commission artists in Canada
Commissioned portraits of people, families and important life moments.
Choose the right portrait commission artist
In Canada, a portrait commission might be a formal oil painting, an expressive family portrait, a watercolour from photographs or a drawing. A family portrait commission usually changes with the number of figures, size and quality of the source material. Compare the artist’s actual portraits before choosing on price alone.
People and family portraits
Corynn Kokolakis publishes completed family and individual oil portraits with dimensions and a stated process. In Vancouver, Haike Tremblay offers photo-based custom portraits in several media. Their official pages show different aesthetics and commission terms.
Pet portraits are a distinct brief
If the subject is a dog, cat or horse, see pet portrait commissions. Ask whether the artist works from multiple photographs, can combine subjects and includes a composition approval. A pet specialist may be a better match than a general portrait painter.
To commission a portrait artist, send the intended size, number of subjects, available photos, deadline and delivery location. Ask for a written quote covering revisions, deposit, shipping and use of the finished image. Browse Vancouver portrait artists or compare the full list below.
